Tara moved to Vancouver four years ago with the intention of making it her long-term home after a number of years living and working abroad in various countries. She joined Haddock & Company in the summer of 2019. Her practice areas include strata property law, co-operative housing law, landlord and tenant law, and construction law.
Tara graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Global Development Studies from Western University and obtained her master’s degree in Social Change and Development Studies from The University of Newcastle. Following the completion of her master’s degree, Tara felt that she would be better equipped to develop practical solutions to problems by obtaining a law degree. She completed her law degree at the University of Birmingham in England. Tara is called to the bar in British Columbia and Ontario.
Prior to joining Haddock & Company, Tara completed her legal training in criminal and family law in Vancouver. She has appeared as counsel at both the Provincial and Supreme Court level, however she believes that many matters can be resolved outside of the courtroom through negotiation and settlement agreements.
Tara is a strong believer in social justice and community development, which has compelled her volunteer her time with a number of organizations globally. In her spare time she enjoys experimenting with vegan recipes, traveling, studying Mandarin, reading and keeping active outdoors.
