We Like What We Do. And We’re Good At It.
Grant Haddock established Haddock & Company in North Vancouver in 2001 after nearly a decade of honing his skills at a construction law boutique firm in downtown Vancouver. From the outset, Haddock & Company sought to provide valuable legal solutions to its client base of Housing Co-ops, Strata Corporations and Contractors.
The creation of Haddock & Company proved popular in the industry and rapid growth in the firm’s client base followed. In 2008, the firm relocated from premises on Lonsdale Avenue to the current larger facilities in order to accommodate growth within the firm to meet the needs of the expanding client base.
Throughout its existence, Haddock & Company has sought to establish itself as an industry leader for the provision of legal services to the housing provider industry. Our client base stretches across the Province, geography being no longer a barrier to legal services in the digital age. Today, we call ourselves “BC’s Housing Lawyers™” and we think that is a pretty good description.
We have a proven track-record of successfully representing numerous housing providers and contractors at the Provincial, Supreme and Appeal Courts of BC. We have appeared for our clients before the Human Rights Tribunal, the Residential Tenancy Branch, the Employment Standards Branch and have provided advice to our clients on the Civil Resolution Tribunal.
Our lawyers are constantly keeping track of legal changes that affect housing law. We have solid working relationships with the leading housing industry organizations that put us on a solid footing to work with our clients.
We understand the unique aspects of strata and housing communities and the sometimes complex personal dynamics that can develop within those communities. We have successfully sorted out many community disputes for various multi-unit housing operations and we bring that strength to the table for our clients.
We pride ourselves for being known as “BC’s Housing Lawyers™. We like what we do and we’re good at it.”
Public education is very important to the lawyers of Haddock & Company. We believe that providing education to our client base will give them some of the tools they need to be successful in their operations.
The lawyers of Haddock & Company have become sought after speakers and have spoken at education conferences sponsored by industry leaders such as:
- The Co-operative Housing Federation of British Columbia;
- The Co-operative Housing Federation of Canada;
- The Condominium Homeowners Association;
- Manufactured Home Park Owners Alliance of BC;
